Mohanlal has a new look in Rock N Roll, wears jeans, cargos, designer shirts and shorts and speaks English with a mix of Malayalam. Drummer Chandramouli (Mohanlal) violinist Isaac (Mukesh), key board player Henry (Rehman), musician Gunasekharan alias Guna (Manoj K Jayan), tabla specialists Balu, Vishal (Siddique and Harishree Ashokan) - all these people have only one aim and that is cinema.

Renjith tells the story of a gang mainly Keralites, who reached Chennai to enter the film industry.Lakshmi Rai plays heroine in the film. She plays Daya Sreenivas, a singer in the film. Radhika and Shweta Menon are the other two heroines of the film. The shooting of the film, a musical entertainer is progressing in and around Chennai.

The others in Rock N Roll are Mukesh, Lal, Siddique, Harishree Ashokan etc. Vidyasagar composes music for the songs penned by Girish Puthencherry. Upcoming cameraman Manoj Pillai is using a different style in Rock N Roll.
