Mohanlal and comedy kings- Rafi& Mecartin of Punjabi House, Tenkasi Pattanam fame are coming together for the first time in Hello, for which shooting has commenced in Ottapalam and later it will be shifted to Ootty. Parvathy Melton who did the ‘Malabar Gold house’ ad with Mohanlal and also a few Telugu films is the heroine.

Mohanlal who was in grief following his father’s demise, had to postpone the shoot by a week. He had to comfort his mother, who is now living all alone in a huge mansion in Thiruvananthapuram. Says Mohanlal: ” I try to comfort her and give her moral support by speaking to her every day atleast four or five times. That’s the only thing I can do, when I’am away on location.”

In Hello Mohanlal plays a lawyer, Advocate Sivaraman who is drunk most of the time! It is a treat watching Mohanlal do the drunken act. There are very few actors in India who can enact the pathos and comical effects of an inebriated man as well as he does.

According to the directors Rafi and Mecartin- “The story is about a man, who due to a personal tragedy becomes an alcoholic. Then he gets a call and the `hello` he hears, changes his life. All this is told in a humorous manner with a sentimental touch”.

One of the highlights of the film is Jagathy Sreekumar who plays Chandy Kunju, Sivaraman’s benefactor and best friend. He moves around in Motor bike with a side car that comes handy to transport Sivaraman, when he gets drunk!

After some probs with the Macta Hallo is set to be released on june 28.In Hallo Mohanlal plays the role of a lawyer named Sivaraman.Parvati Melton is the heroine in this film.Parvati Melton is a glamorous model from Mumbai.Mohanlal looks more pretty in Hallo with a different hair style. Shyamaprasad is one director who has established a genre of his own, with his very interesting plots which travels through the least explored angles of human mind and the erosion of values that has occurred in the lives of modern man. His Agnisakshi and Akale were films that were celebrated among those who were die hard fans of serious cinema.

Here with his new film Orekadal, he is again into his act of exploring human minds and their emotional strains. This time, Shyamaprasad has the support of the two of the best known and acknowledged artists of the Indian cinema–Mammootty and Meera Jasmine, in the lead.

Mammooty is Dr. S.R. Nathan in the film, an internationally acclaimed economist, molded in the likes of Dr. Amartya Sen. He is more focused on fiscal and economic matters and roams around in careless dresses amidst lazyness and his big intellect. He leads a lonely life and is an alcoholic to boot, who never believes in long lasting relations.

And after a travel around the world, he comes over to a flat to make a living for some time. Their, by the oddest of circumstances he meets a housewife, Deepthi, who instantly develops a fancy for the world renowned economist. Deepthi is living in one of the neighboring flats with his husband Jayan who is a marketing officer of an insurance company. In course of time they learn that they have much common between themselves. Both due to their own circumstances, they have been to same emotional strains, which bring them together for a matured romance that starts budding between them.

Meera Jasmine, for first time starring opposite Mammootty in this film, plays the role of Deepthi. The film speaks about the varied experiences of life and hitherto unseen aspects of romance. Scripted by the director Shyamaprasad himself, the film will cater more to an enlightened audience. The film produced by Vindhyan in the banner of Rasika Entertainments, have five songs by Gireesh Puthencherry set to music by Ouseppachan.

The shooting of the film has been completed weeks ago, and is in its postproduction stages. The film is planned to be in theatres by the mid of June

The film which has completed it’s shooting in and around Ottapalam and Ootty has Parvathy Milton who did the ‘Malabar Gold house’, advertisement with Mohanlal, debuting as the heroine.

In the film Mohanlal is a lazy advocate, Shivaraman, popularly called as Shiva. Even though an advocate by profession, he spends more time to booze than to be in court. And at those times, he is a known troublemaker of the city.

One of the best friends of Shivaraman is Chandy Kunju, Sivaraman’s benefactor. He is a little handicapped but he is more a law breaker and a regular client of Sivaraaman. His act of escaping with ease whenever police is behind him is a surprise everyone. He moves around in a Motor bike with a side car that comes handy to transport Sivaraman, when he gets drunk and out of control.

Parvathy is the daughter of a private moneylender, who develops an interest in the troublesome ways of the advocate. Sivaraman had taken to drinking because of a great tragedy in his life, after which he presumes that it is better to be a drunk than be normal. On a sunny day, he receives a phone call, which is all set to change his life once again. The film has a big cast including Madhu, Siddique, Jagadhish, Madhu Warrior, Keerikkadan Jose, Spadikam George, Salim Kumar, Beeman Reghu, Rizabava, Ganesh Kumar and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

The story weaves both fun and youth filled moments about the magic of Mohanlal and Jagathy again in a full fledged affair. The film is told in the usual format of Rafi -Mecarttin with plenty of humor, twists, songs and a sentimental touch. The music section is handled by Vayalar Sharath and Alex Paul.

The movie which is in its post production stages is edited by Don Max. It is all set to reach the release centres by the first week of July.

Zhang Shu Min, a Chinese girl who is working in the ace director Lal Jose’s new movie Arabikatha was recently in Kerala to shot for a part of the film.

Pretty surprised with the Kerala culture and its beautiful people, the actress was the talk of the mob in the filmi circuit. She bagged the role opposite Sreenivasan when she was working for a Dubai-based company.

Zang Shu Min’s entry into films is a story that will very well suit a film. She started as a translator — helping the crew to find a Chinese girl for the role.

The director cannot find any one better who could speak good English and could emote as well, like Shu Min. That’s when director Lal Jose decided on Shu Min for the role.

“I have been in Dubai for more than three years now and I was quite friendly with a number of Malayalis. Besides, I get a warm reception wherever I go”, says the actress who is pretty new to the field and its etiquette’s.

The film will grace the theatres next month.

Mary John Kurisingal is a teacher and a social worker. She has four adopted children. Though they come from four different religious backgrounds, all add the suffix John Kurisingal to their names. Bilal is one of the four children. He grows up to be a person with steely determination who fears nobody and nothing. One fine day Bilal leaves his home town of Kochi and moves to Mumbai, where he becomes the trusted body guard of underworld dons. After a time however, he decides to call it quits and return to Kochi. But what he finds on his return is not what he had expected.

Ore Kadal, starring Mammootty and Meera Jasmine, being shot in Chennai will be completed soon. Mammootty plays the role of an economist in the film, directed by Shyamaprasad. The movie, based on a Bengali story, is now slated for release on July 12. Mammootty has also started shooting for the film Vandematram at Chennai. The movie is being shot simultaneously in Tamil. The Tamil version, named Aruvadai, has Sneha playing the female lead.

Kamal is the one director in Malayalam who moves with the pulse and trends of the youth. With his new flick, Goal another boarding school story after Notebook Kamal has attempted to make a technically savvy, candy floss film with a bunch of new comers.

The success of “Chandramukhi” at the box office has obviously done wonders to Rajini’s career.

The producers are also secretive about the cost of the film. Nobody in the industry, however, puts the cost at less than Rs.500 million. The rights of the film, meanwhile, have reportedly been sold already for an exorbitant price.

Another classified detail is when the film will be released. While there is no word from the producers, it is expected that “Sivaji” will hit the screen in November 2006.

Last but not the least, it is a secret whether the choice of the film’s title has anything to do with Rajini’s real name - Shivaji Rao Gaekwad.

The film is also important as it is Rajini’s next film after the stupendous success of Chandramukhi and Shankar’s next project after that record breaking Anniyan.

While Shreya plays Rajini’s heroine, the movie has Vivek besides rumors that Malayalam hero Mohanlal will be acting in an important role.
